Question:
My husband gave me a sewing-embroidery machine Janome 350E for my birthday. I am totally confused about downloading free machine embroidery designs from the www.needlework.ru . I have a supply of the USB memory sticks and I know a little about computers. I have Windows XP on my lap top. I just need very detailed instructions as to the exact steps to download the designs to the usb memory stick/zip drive. I have tried and I get the design on the memory stick drive but when I put it in the machine the folder comes up "my designs" I touch it but nothing happens? I think I must be missing some step somewhere?
Answer:
First you need to format the USB. Important: You memory stick USB is less than 1 GB. Put the USB stick ito your machine and using the set key, page through using the bottom arrow key - you will come to format ( ths will also be in your manual ) select the USB memory stick - and wait until it formats, this could take 1-5 minutes.
If you see the EmbF5 then it has already been formatted by the Janome. Now go back to your computer and click on that folder.
You will see ANOTHER sub-folder called Design (or My Designs, or something similar). That is where you will need to copy over your jef machine embroidery files. Then put the USB back into the Janome 350E sewing-embroidery machine and and they should show up. Don't put more than 6 designs on the USB at any one time or it will take forever to load. If you don't see the one that you want, then hit the "next page" icon on the Janome screen. For some reason mine only displays about 3 on each "screen page".
You can create several folders on the same level as "MyDesign" to speed up the Janome even with more than a couple of embroidery designs (probably free from www.needlework.ru) per USD stick. Just make sure the USB stick isn't too large, otherwise it will not be recognized or shows a poor performance.
Important: don't copy more than 100 designs in one folder. |
